Rocket Fishing Rod

This turned up in my email this morning. I am sure CBIRD had an idea like this one day and i laughed at him, like i am laughing at this now......similar to the trapdoor in the backyard idea......anyway here is this new "Gadget"

Fishing is supposed to be relaxing, dammit. Sure, sitting on a boat in the sun drinking beer with your buddies is relaxing, but what about the whole casting motion? You call that relaxing?! I need to actually move my arm and exert some energy, which I am not a fan of. What I need is this Rocket Fishing Rod, which launches the hook, line, and float via a handheld compression unit.

Now all I need is a way to get that Beer to my lips without moving my arm and I can really relax.

Australia Day Celebrations

A special thanks to our hosts Dave and Karly for a sensational Aussie Day!

The Backyard cricket was a success, with many classic catches being taken and a couple of very good cricket shots that ended up in the house, or over a fence.

The Golds and other "Australian" fluids were flowing in abundance and everyone was having a great time! The spectators were given a full day of cricket, with the only break coming at lunch time, for the traditional BBQ

In the end of the day when things calmed down, it was discovered that the day had produced a few injuries and we hope these people fully recover in time for the next celebrations.

One thing was very clear from the day, the
AUSTRALIAN SPIRIT
is strong inside these people

Our Land

I know some of you probably heard Nicole or I whining last night about our land and how the back has been destroyed.....well here are some pictures you tell me if you see the difference

This picture shows the land before it was touched. Our block extends back to just in front of the big tree on the left of the screen (not the one right on the edge) Yes the ground there is not much but there are some small tress and there was some low ground cover holding all the soil together from eroding

Then they come in..........

They try and make up some story about the tree fell into our yard and they had to bring the backhoe in to pick it up and then clean up the area after it had been in there........

I got one word for them, and i am pretty sure you all know what it is!!!!

(ps never mind the dead turf there in the front of screen, i put that their to stop the erosion)
